Nanny Neutrality: How to stop the cycle of body shaming in our youth
Did you know that most negative body talks starts as early as age 6? What if your kids
scrutinized their body the way you scrutinize yours? In this 90 minute workshop, you will
learn the way cultural body bias might be impacting your children, and how approaching health
from a Body Neutral lens can drastically lower the risk of eating disorders and body image
issues with your kids. What that means... they'll learn they don't have to like the way they look
to love their body. What we'll cover:

• What “being healthy” really means
• How Body Neutrality promotes health for all children
• Ways to make your home more neutral in its approach to health
Debbie Saroufim is a Body Acceptance Coach. Like many children of past and present, Debbie
was introduced to the idea of “good” and “bad” bodies as young as 6 years old. Debbie
internalized that, and by her tween years had developed an eating disorder.
After years of recovery and boundless personal growth, Debbie now works with women, teens
and tweens to help them make peace with their body and build up their immunity to diet
culture. Debbie also works with schools to help teach a Body Neutral and Diverse Health

certifications and professional credentials from the US Nanny Institute & Association,
demonstrating her expertise in the field. As a business owner, she develops advanced
curriculum for parents, nannies, and caregivers, providing evidence-based strategies to
support cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Her combination of research-backed

Developmental Milestones: How Do We Help At Home?
In this course you will learn about the developmental milestones and when there is a concern.
This course will touch on a popular theory used in early intervention and how those principles
can be used to set up activities at home. The majority of the course will be learning about
activities to do at home to help with early motor milestones such as tummy time, sitting,
standing, and walking. It will also touch on activities to encourage fine motor skills up to
preschool, such as writing grasp, scissor skills, and buttons. Links to resources and social
media accounts will also be shared to continue finding more ideas long after.
I’m Jessica McCoy and I’m a pediatric occupational therapist. I have worked as a pediatric OT
for more than 14 years. I work with children who have neuromotor disorders such as cerebral
palsy and similar genetic conditions. I have worked in an early childhood program, side by side
with a PT, speech therapist and a teacher for their therapy. I also do evaluations for
communication equipment, seating and positioning equipment such as wheelchairs, and

Positive Discipline Strategies for Children ages 2-5 Years
The goal of positive discipline is for it to be proactive rather than reactive. However, when a
behavior happens, how caregivers approach the situation is important. This training will offer
strategies and tools to leave you feeling ready to work alongside your child(ren) to get to the
root of their behavior and use it as a learning opportunity. Positive Discipline is a long-term
investment, not only in our relationship with our child(ren), but also throughout a child’s life.
We will focus on discipline between the ages of 2-5 years and provide an interactive opportunity
for learning, discussion, and collaboration.

as 5 years of private nannying. She attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst,
graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education & Administration. Sarah views every

training, and knowledge in regard to the nanny industry. Sarah has two young children of her
own and uses her experience as an educator, former nanny, and a mother to view each
placement through multiple lenses. She loves being outside with her husband and children
