Laura Moore is CEO of DInnerTime, a highly personalized meal planning web app, whose mission is to "bring millions of families back to the dinner table.” Laura grew up in a small town on Cape Cod, as the daughter of a commercial fisherman and a nurse. Laura attended Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School before launching a series of entrepreneurial “adventures” with her husband, Charlie, in Maryland for the past 25 years. Fostering a Culture of Compassion, Understanding and Connection - Developing Complete Social and Emotional Awareness
Join Danny LaBrecque, early educator and host of the interactive children's web series, Danny Joe's Tree House on Facebook live and YouTube as he shares techniques in simple puppetry to facilitate conversations about sensitive topics.
Sometimes it is hard for both children and their adults to find the words to express complex emotions. As we all know, the language of the young child is play. Through play we caregivers are given the opportunity to truly listen to both verbal and non-verbal behavior and in the process get a pretty good idea of what the child is thinking and feeling.

Danny LaBrecque has been in the field of early childhood development for over 15 years. Before that he was a classically trained song and dance man. He has supported the social-emotional needs of young children and their parents and caregivers starting in Chicago back in 2000 and now in Baltimore. Danny
has always thought of the role of the educator as a guide--a caring adult who encourages the child to engage in the process of active thinking as opposed to just telling her what to think. He understands that play is the language of the young child. Through it, we can help that child and his parent or caregiver to safely examine an array of social-emotional topics ranging from separation anxiety to sibling rivalry to larger shared social events, like coping with tragedy. Danny uses traditional play therapies like simple hand puppetry, art, dance, dramatic play and music to facilitate these family examinations on and off the interactive screen.

Take a Bow- Theatre Games and Techniques to Use with Your Kids
Did you know that theater is one of the best ways to teach empathy? In Lauren Gunderson’s Huffington Post blog, How Theatre for Young People Could Change the World, she says that “so much of the toxicity in this world comes from a collective draining of empathy. We don't understand each other, and we don't want to. But theater invites us -- no, forces us -- to empathize.” This practice lays the foundation for strength and compassion. Come and join us for a quick look behind the curtain at how an actor’s tools can enhance your play with kids. We will demonstrate and talk about interesting games and techniques that will teach everything from empathy to better communication to higher self-confidence. There is so much to be learned from theater! Come play with us!
